DIY Yarn Wrapped Mallets

In this post I am showing you how to wrap mallets with yarn. These mallets can be used with wooden slit drums or with a Marimba. I need a lot of mallets for my work as a music therapist, and that’s the reason I decided to make a lot of different mallets myself. It saved me a lot of money!

It is a precise work to wrap the mallets in a way that the yarn is distributed evenly. With some tips and tricks it is a lot easier and if you know how to do it, you will see yourself making them yourself instead of buying them!

DIY Mallets

This is a blog about how to make your own mallets. As a music therapist I need a lot of mallets. And a lot of different types of mallets. So I decided to make a bunch of them myself. In this first post I will show you how I made the rubber and wooden mallets, in a next post I will show you how to make a mallet which is winded with yarn, like a mallet which will be used on a marimba or wooden slit-drum.

How to make your own Aquarelle Watercolour Pallet

 

I love working with aquarelle watercolours. I have found a lot of paints and colours in tubes in a couple of garage sales. But I noticed that I never used those paints. That’s why I wanted to have them in a palette, so I could go and play more with them. A friend saw my palette and asked me to make her one. I thought that would be a great project for a new blog. The picture above is the new palette I made her, and the last pictures of this post show my own and much older palette.

How to make bunting from your old magazines

Most of us crafties like to collect magazines. Because maybe, someday, you can use them for a project. In the meanwhile you have a huge pile of magazines that you never use. Today I will share a way with you how you can use some of those old magazines to make a colorful bunting. The bunting I will make I am going to  use on the wall of my stairs. You can make the bunting as big or as small as you like.
