Choker necklaces are hot right now. Everywhere you see them, in shops, people on the street and in magazines. The choker necklaces in the stores are sometimes quite expensive. But a choker necklace is a necklace that isn’t hard to make yourself. Ofcourse there are a couple of chokers that are more difficult to make. But when you want a easy, cheap and quick one, it is nice to make it yourself.

In a couple of blogposts I will show you a couple of ideas for choker necklaces step-by-step, so that you can also make your own choker necklace.

I made a couple of examples, but the possibilities are endless.

First things first, you will need a couple of utilities. Depending on which kind of choker you are making you will need:

  • Leather strings
  • Big beads
  • Scissors

We will start with a very easy one. For this one you will need a leather string and a bead. The leather string needs to be able to wrap two and a half time around your neck. The bead needs to be big enough te put around two straps of the leather string and small enough so it won’t fall down the straps.

Step one: Put the bead on the two ends of the string:

Step 2: Put the leather string around your neck and put the bead as close as comfortable to your neck. See the pictures below.

Step 3: Grap the ends of the leather string and pull them to the back of your neck. Take care to put the ends of the string the same way they came to the front and tie a knot with the ends, see pictures below.
